Pastor Chelsea has served as pastor at Christ Lutheran since August 2014.

She grew up in Enumclaw, Washington, where she and her family attended Hope Lutheran Church, a member of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA). She graduated from Whitworth University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Theatre and Music. At Whitworth, she met her future husband, Bill Kallio, and they were married in 2007. Bill currently works at as a software development manager. After discerning a call to ministry, she entered the Master's of Divinity program at Seattle University’s School of Theology & Ministry in 2009, graduating in 2014. In the course of her education, she spent one year studying at Pacific Lutheran Theological Seminary in Berkeley, CA. In November 2015, Chelsea's and Bill's first child, Jack was born. They enjoy going to restaurants, going on long walks, and brewing beer.

Director of Music

Katie Stevenson became the Music Director at Christ Lutheran in 2015. She was raised in Oregon and attended Zion Lutheran, where her mother is the music director. In Oregon, she earned her Bachelor of Music Degree from Portland State University with an emphasis in vocal performance. During her time in college she was the keyboardist at Prince of Peace Lutheran in Portland. After college she moved to Alaska where she worked as a music teacher, church pianist sub and vocal soloist, and as a performer with the Anchorage Opera. She later moved to NYC and Germany to pursue her opera career, while also working as a teacher with the Piano School of NYC. She now maintains a private studio and is an adjunct at Lakeside School in Seattle, where she lives with her husband Bryan and dog Dobby.

Office Manager

Laura and her family have been members of Christ Lutheran since 2010. In 2013, she found herself taking a break from a long career in graphic design and accepted the office position when Pastor Leapaldt retired. She manages the daily operations of the church, creates worship bulletins and publications, and finds value in working with church leaders and volunteers to equip the saints for the work of ministry.

Laura also enjoys art, music and the outdoors. She and her husband Guy are parents to three teenage boys - Eric, Kyle and Ian who are active in Boy Scouts and on the Xbox - and a very tolerant tuxedo cat named Jim-Bob.
